A health and fitness podcast that doesn't take itself too seriously, but also shine's a light on the mind side of the "body and mind" ethos that we’re about here at Higher Training. You'll be sure to make some serious brain gains but that will only be a small part of it. No topic is safe from being talked about whether it be mental health, music, sport or whatever decides to poke its wee head up in conversation. I'll be bringing in people from all walks of life to talk about their story, have a laugh and to learn some lesson's along the way. I hope you all enjoy the journey!

Ep 18 - Greek Myths - Narcissus, Narcissists and Stoicism ft. Orla Swan

“People don't change.'
'People change entirely,' I said. 'Look at Narcissus. He became a flower. I call that change.”
― Kamila Shamsie
If you enjoy Greek Mythology this is your jam.
If you've had dealings with narcissistic people in the past, this is most definitely your jam spread all over a freshly baked cherry scone.
I was joined by Orla Swan (@thehealthhun) in this Hellenistic escapade over a couple of drinks and we did as was expected, ramble and wax lyrical about our life experiences and thoughts on the crazy epicness that is Greek Mythology.
Yes I know "epicness" is not a word but it fucking is now :)
We also shoveled our way through narcissism and narcissistic traits of which most of us have our fair share of.
This is a step in the direction that I want this podcast to go; less formal and more conversational with more of a focus on the questions that keep me up late at night.
Like "who the fuck thought that some chap turned into a daffodil after staring at his reflection in a lake?"
Fitness is important, but Greek Mythology is important-er.
Open Pandora's box and get stuck in to the story's that still influence our world today.
